This is the city of Waldkraiburg. It is located 40 miles east of Munich, in south-east Germany.

There are  25,000 inhabitants living in Waldkraiburg. It was founded in 1950; so it is a relatvely young city.

During World War 2 the only activities here would have been an explosives factory. Built in the forest and surrounded by bunkers which housed the workers.

After WW II the bunkers were used as emergency accommodations for German refugees. They were people who were expelled from the eastern parts of Germany. With a lot of diligence and hard work the refugees built a new and modern city.

Today nothing remains to remind the people of the cities past. The German taxpayers have been helping with a lot of the money to build this city. Modern buildings, many jobs, traffic systems, facilities of sport, education and relaxtion,  that is  Waldkraiburg now.

It is now a very relaxed city and a great place for living and working.
