About the RRC « Russian Robinson Club »

Most islands chasers know the Russian Robinson Club which has been around for some years now. The club claims to offer an interesting award program and I was assigned the membership number 349. Today I am informing the amateur radio community that I'm resigning as a RRC member. Please read on. it could save you some money !

Early 2001, I noticed I finally managed to get the required number of Russian islands QSLs to apply for the Russian Robinson Honour Roll Plaque.

So, I sent my cards together with the fee of 40 $ to my checkpoint DL6ZFG (http://www.dl6zfg.de) who had been checking my cards for previous RRC award applications. My cards were quickly checked and returned by DL6ZFG.

After not receiving any news about my plaque, I sent several e-mails to the RRC president and award manager RW3GW, all of them unanswered. DL6ZFG also checked with RW3GW, but apparently mister Valery Sushkov did not even considered sending the plaques, for which all applicants paid 40 $.

Patience is a virtue, but after several months of false promises I have no other choice than to isue a warning to all those who are thinking about sending their application for any RRC award or plaque. If you don't bother losing money, just go ahead !
