Personal: My name is Carsten Esch and my wife and our little two children just moved to Salzhausen, 40km south of Hamburg. I was born in 1965, have studied Electronics and am now working as a manager for the User-Help-Desk (for all digital equipment from OLYMPUS - cameras, printer, scanner, MO drives).

I am married since September 1995 with Sylvia and we have two childs. Yannik, born in January 96 and Louisa born in July 97.

Beside my family the most important hobby for me is Amateur Radio. I got my amateur radio licence back in 1982 at the age of 17. I enjoyed VHF/UHF weak signal work (including EME) and also operated shortwave 'a bit'.

During my time as a student I earned some money as a sailing instructor. I also worked as a sailing instructor in the Carribbean and made some amateur radio operation there. This was the time I got fascinated by sitting on the other side of the pile-up.

My
Station:
Due to the fact that we just bought our house, my station is very temporary.... I am using the driven element of my A4S (10/15/20m) on a 8m tubular mast and a lambda/4 GP for 40m.

Transceiver is a Kenwood TS850SAT and an IC 775DSP. I am using an Alpha 77SX and a Kenwood TL-922 amplifier to the time being.
