My name is Mirko Baumgartner and I live in Oberhausen, Germany.
Born 1968 in Oberhausen and grown up as a child of two I am still living
and working for a Facility Management Company in my hometown.
My main hobbies are Amateur Radio and Sports.
I have been a Radio Amateur for 14 years now and prefer to work rare
stations on shortwave, especially on the lowbands.
I still need one more country ( P5, North Korea ) from the current DXCC
list (334) to get them all.
Since a
couple of years I try to work as many countries on each shortwave band
from 10-160m as possible.
I have
reached around 2665 bandpoints so far and its getting more and more
difficult
now.
I am active on all shortwave bands and beside I am
working on 2m and 70cm, mainly in
Packet Radio.Together with
some local friends we
are running
a 9k6
digipeater ,
a mailbox
and the
packet
cluster
DB0RDX-9
In the past
few years I
have been
traveling
around with
some good
friends for
contesting
and holiday.
