The antennas:

Because of the close mountains I decided to put up only a 2 element beam for 10-15-20 meter bands. For 40 and 80 meter I put up a low W3DZZ antenna.

Antenna front side

The Emtron TE-23 pointing to the south. It is only about 2,5 m above the roof.
We used an improvised crane (our 8 m portable tower) to install the beam.
Boom length: 2 m, longest element: almost 8 m
Hardly to see: The 144 Mhz GP above the sat-antenna.

Antenna back side

The TE-23 pointing to the west (Caribic). The feeder for the W3 (40 m and 80 m dipole) ends at the same hight as the roof. (70° opening between the ends, abt. 6m high). The fixing for the W3 was used for an 11 m (CB) GP before I came to amateur radio. Then I used the GP for 10 m operation. In sunspot minimum I was able to contact only a few countries: some in Southamerica, Africa (e.g. ZS, 9Q) and the Middleeast and of course Europe.
