I'm living now here in this nice area in bavaria for more than 3 years. The time before I was located in Bremen, which is a nice city in the northern part of germany. In 1978 I started with a class2 licence for VHF and UHF bands. But I was also interested to communicate around the world on shortwave. So one year later after learning CW I've been upgraded to class 1 licence. From that time on I was less or more active depending on available time for this hobby.

At the moment the following equipment is used here on the amateur radio frequencies:

• Standard C4208D for FM and Packet Radio 1k2 and 9k6
• Any 4251, which is an old japanese Crystal Controlled 70cm FM-TRX , for Packet Radio 1k2 and 9k6
• Alinco DJ580, 2m and 70cm Duoband Handy, for FM and Packet Radio
• T7F ( homemade PLL-Packet-TRX optimized for 9k6 and higher, developed by DF2FQ) for Packet Radio
• My brand new ICOM IC Q7 for FM 2m and 70cm, broadband RX from 30Mhz to 1310Mhz
• IC725 short wave TRX connected to a 26.2m long slooper antenna

But Amateur-Radio is not my only hobby. In summertime I can be usually found on the airfield flying gliders. This glider club can be found in Landsberg, which is located approx. 55km west of Munich.

In this glider club, LSV Geratshof, we are flying different types of aircrafts

• 2 Grob Twin III
• 1 LS4
• 1 Ka 8b
• and some private owned types of gliders like Ventus, Cirrus, a.s.o.

Every Radio Amateur who is visiting south germany is herewith invited to visit our airfield and have a nice flight in our double seated Twin III as my guest! We will have a nice flight with a simlilar view like this:
