In July 1998 i made a 4-week-holiday-trip to Scandinavia. First i drove from my hometown Ehningen

with my car to Sweden via Danmark. The first stay was in Stockholm because the vessel to Finland

departed in the evening of the next day i arrived there. So i had time to visit the nice City.

Next day i get the night-ferry to Turku and drove from there to my summer-cottage in Lempyy,

about 400 km north. There i stayed for one week, relaxing, fishing an having fun with my portabel

Radio Station. After that week i took a trip to the Aland Islands. I had to drive back to Turku and

get the Ferry to Marienhamn, the Capitol of The Alands. There, i first had problems to get a cottage

or a Hotelroom where Radio Operation was possible, but after searching 2 long hours i found a room

in "Salis Gesthem" on the Island Hammarland, where Hamradio was possible but only with my 4-Band-

wire-groundplane hidden in a bush. After the 4 days, i had 780 QSO in my log, all made with that very

simple Equipment. So I went back and stayed the next weeks on continent in Finland.
