Hi, I'm Regina,

a picture of Regina, DL4OCC

and my callsign is DL4OCC. As you can see from the 'D' in my callsign, I live in Germany.

I passed the examination for my radio amateur license in 1992. At first it seemed that I would need Morse code only for the exam, but now I'm even helping with teaching code at my local Radio Amateur Club.

Maybe that's because I've been a school teacher for more than twenty years now and, you won't believe it, I still love my job. I teach at two schools in one building. At the elementary school, what is not very common, I am the teacher for young learners of English. They are eight and nine years old and both of us, the kids and me, are fond of this experiment: Lessons without any reports, but full of songs and games.

Most of my time I spend at a two-year middle school, after which it is decided which kind of secondary school pupils will go to. I teach eleven and twelve year old boys and girls in German, English, and history. These 28 kids have been born in Germany, Russia, Poland, Spain, Iraq, and Lebanon. The variety of experiences they have made makes it very interesting to see and learn how differently problems can be handled, when seen from different cultural backgrounds.

QSL card of DL4OCC

On the right you find my QSL card, which clearly gives a hint at my profession. When there is still time left, I sometimes sit in front of our VHF and short-wave radios and try to make contacts with all parts of the world.

If you'd like to know more, you should either

Better yet: try both of them, you are invited!

Of course, you can always send me an EMail.

Preferred Mode of Operation

Naturally, on short waves I use SSB (J3E), and FM (F3E) on VHF/UHF. But my preferred mode of operation is CW, or more correctly A1A using international Morse code (or continental code as it is called in the USA).
