The Double Cluster NGC869 & NGC884

Instrument:
ETX-70 (350mm, f/5.0), autostar #494
Camera:
ToUCam pro PCVC-740 SC1, Baader IR filter

Images were taken with 10sec exposures at an amplification level of about 75%. Why having the amplifier on anyway, and why at a high level like this? Good question, hopefully a good answer would read like this: It's stars I was trying to record. Objects which send out light, compared to the background. Neither colour nor internal structure matters, in faint levels of grey only lightish spots could make the astronomer happy...

NGC884 (\chi per)

NGC869 (h per)

Both Combined

Sensitivity

Have a look at the core of NGC884 and compare to the images above... Indicated are visual magnitudes of selected stars as looked up in the Tycho catalogue. Please note that this is NOT the way to write magnitudes, just the simple drawing software would it make rather cumbersome... HTML does not make it easier neither....
