My name is Hermann. I am 58 years old, landscape architect by profession and I live in the City of Essen in the western part of Germany. My hobbies are ham radio, informatics and bike riding.

In 1990 I got my ham radio licence . At the beginning, at that time still without aid of any computer, I mainly operated in SSB and CW making a lot of radio contacts. Then the digital modes became more and more interesting and I have been very active in Packet Radio, RTTY, AMTOR and lately also in PSK. Due to my hobby I could constantly improve my modest knowledges of foreign idioms like English, French and Portuguese. Additionally the numerous contacts with radio amateurs all over the world led to some permanent connections and friendships to hams in Germany, Brazil and France.

Because of personal circumstances my main interest consists in connections to Brazil. I had got also a call sign there: PT2ZDF. During my vacations in the brazilian capital Brasilia I used to work mainly packet radio and CW.
