Here you can have a look how we managed to mount the VHF/UHF antenna in 1997 at my home location. This is the array I am still using today.

Here you see the 15m high tower at the east of our house with the mounted boom and at the 18 element cross-yagi for 2m with 14m boomlength. In the background you see an other mast on the house with a 5ele for shortwave, 14ele DJ9BV for 2m, groundplane for 2/70/23 and a 26ele linkyagi for packetradio.
Now we are going to mount a 18ele yagi DJ9BV design for 2m and a 41ele yagi DJ9BV design for 70cm at the other side of the boom. Therefor a horizontal mast is mounted above the boom.

This is the construction of the 2m yagi (upper) and the 70cm yagi (lower) with my father Georg (DL2KP), Franz (DL7FAM) and me (DL2FDX) from right to left.
Now the construction is hanging at a rope to be pulled further up. At the right and left side of the antennas are held away from the tower with ropes.
And it is going further up and up.....
Now it is nearly at the position it should be.

dThis is now me up at the roof getting the two antennas to the right position for mounting it.
Still with some problems mounting the antennas. In the background you see the 5ele for shortwave.
This is the most problematic situation. You have no chance alone on the roof.
Nearly mounted
The last screws are puted.
Now we got it.....   The antennas are save mounted at the boom.

Now the antennas are pushed up the tower.

Still everything OK??

And it is going up further and further................
It is getting dark so we decided this was enough for that day!
The rest was done the next day.
This is how it looks when we finished......and is still looking today. Hopefully it will take some time till I'll find the antenna in my garden. If the next storms don't damage it, it is tooooo small. If there is a damage it was not made of material what is solid enought, but it is never too small!!!

I hope you could get a clou how we managed to mount sutch a quite big antenna with not too much space around. It is much easier if the tower is not mounted to the house but I don't have another chance here. If you have some questions about this just ask me via e-mail!
