Dickson County Amateur Radio Club minutes:

The DCARC met in room 216 at the Renaissance Center for our monthly meeting on 9, July, 2007 at 7:00 pm.
The meeting was called to order by Charles Seay.
Members present were:
Charles Seay – KN4HL,
Larry Duke – K4GWG,
Bobby Moon – WB4MQU,
Ed Tilley – AG4FW,
Toni Tilley – KG4IWR,
Becky Clark – AF4QB,
Jeff Clark – NY4N,
Randy Bowers – K4TVS,
Jerry Lewis – KG4HDZ.

The June minutes were read and accepted as read.
A donation of $17.00 was taken up, and brings our balance up to $197.50.
Charles mentioned that ARRL website needed to be updated. The contact person was still listed as Landon. It was agreed that we make the new contact person Jeff Clark. Charles will take care of getting this corrected.

New business:
Jeff wanted to know the status of the Field Day logs. Jerry will get with Richard to finalize.
The ARRL Field Day pins are in and were passed out.
There will be a SKYWARN Storm Spotters class on July 31, 2007 (Tuesday), 6:30 pm at the Renaissance Center. Every one is invited.

Jeff brought for discussion a Benefit for SGT. Kevin Downs that was injured in Iraq. There will be a Special Event Station set up on 20 meters 14.200 MHz between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. The call is W4D. The event will be held at Greer Stadium in Nashville. The website is: www.homeforahero.com . Jeff asked the club if we wanted to participate. Larry made a motion to participate and Becky seconded it.

Jeff asked if anyone would be interested in a CPR class. The decision was to set one up for our next Signal Corp meeting on 8-2-2007.

The 300 ft tower is now complete and the next thing is the building. The dual band antenna is on hold for now.
Randy has a cross band setup at his house (test stage for now) to use in the event we have to activate a net. The frequencies are 146.580 simplex, and 446.475 simplex with a PL tone of 127.3. The theory is for Net Control to use as much as possible the 446.475 frequency and mobile units to use the 146.580 frequency.

Charles mentioned that the membership page on our website needs updating.
Jerry is to make up new forms for Active, Inactive, and Honorary members.
The meeting was adjourned by Larry and seconded by Bobby.
