Dickson County Amateur Radio Club
February 2007 Club Meeting Minutes
The February meeting of the Dickson County ARC was held on 12 February 2007,
in room 216 of the Renaissance Center in Dickson. The following members were
present and accounted for:

Jeff, NY4N, was the presiding officer at the opening of the meeting.
Meeting began around 7:05 P.M.
The reading of the January meeting was waived. The meeting was to
adjourn early to do a test on the new antenna installation at the
911 center.
The VE session of the Dickson County ARC was successful, with four
passing exams. Two locally, and two from Crocket County in west Tennessee.
Club picnic has been scheduled for 12 May, 2007, at the Lakeview Park.
Eating time around 6:30 P.M.
Field Day site has been reserved for the Dickson Soccer Fields at
Buckner Park. Friday, Saturday and Sunday has been recorded for
Field Day use.
Greg, KI4TCN, has applied for and received a club call for the
911 Center in Dickson. The call is KI4TKA.
The 2m/440 radio has been installed in the 911 dispatch center.
Hams now have their own desk, with writing board and office supplies.
It can be accessed very easily if needed.
The 911 board will be asked by the 911 director to reimburse NY4N for
a new run of coax for the radio at dispatch. The new run was needed
when they raised the new antenna to an approximate height of 95 feet.
( per Lt Nichols at the dispatch center, the board agreed to pay for
the installation ).
The LEPC wanted to know if the Club was interested in setting up a
table at the upcoming CEP fair. The date is Saturday, 24 March, at the
Fairgrounds. Discussion was tabled to next meeting.
The Club as agreed to suspend the operation of the weekly net on
Thursday. Also, all emergency traffic the Club is involved in is to be
switched to 146.580 simplex for the time being. This includes weather nets.
We have been granted permission to use the 911 dispatch center to hold
Weather Nets. Beginning 1 April, records of nets will be kept for further
reference, called mission reports.
No monies was collected, so the balance remains at 230 dollars
meeting adjourned at around 8:35
