September 2006 Club Meeting Minutes
The September 2006 meeting of the Dickson County Amateur Radio Club was held on 11 September, 2006, at room 216 of the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee. The following members were present and accounted for:

Larry, K4GWG, Vice President, opened meeting. Self introduction and any happenings over the Labor Day holiday for members were discussed.
Larry asked for prayers and a moment of silence for the fifth year anniversary of the 9/11 disaster.
Secretary, Jeff, NY4N, read August's Club minutes. They were approved as read.
Operation Goblin was brought to the table. Vollie, NA4C, was supposed to contact the Public Service Director of the City of Dickson, Rick Chandler, to get his approval. (Secretary's note). The Chief has approved the Club's request and welcomed our participation.
Jeff, NY4N, and Becky, AF4QB, was assigned to be the task of finding a place for the Club's Christmas Party. City Lake Cafe and Montgomery Bell Inn were places mentioned. The team will be looking into different locations.
The Club's Fall Picnic will be held on October 7 at 6:30 P.M. No formal list of what foods to be brought, so it is a free-for-all add-a-dish.
No plans for Field Day 2007 were discussed.
None of the local repeater owners were present, no discussion on how their projects were going.
Vollie advises 6-10 checking-ins on the net per week. Net control duties are being covered. The net meets on Thursday night on the 146.955 MHz repeater.
Tom, NN5A, advises that the Three Rats Club in Waverly will be hosting a VE testing session on 14 October at 7 P.M. It is being held at the Meriweather Lewis conference room in Waverly.
He also asked if the Dickson Club wanted to host VE testing sessions in January and April 2007. Arrangements to be made with Charles, KN4HL, to see if this is workable.
Motion made and carried to donate $50.00 to the Creek Wood High School in memory of Zach Pate. Pate was killed in an automobile accident a few weeks back. Pate was the grandson of Charles and Joyce Seay. Becky is to send the check in a few days.
Tom advised that the 147.225 repeater in McEwen as been taken down from its site. He ask Club members to help find an alternate site for the machine, if possible.
A discussion on the new Emergency Communication Group was brought up. The new name is the Dickson Signal Corps. Interest from Dickson County EMA Director Steve Manley in still intact. The Group will soon develop the Constitution and By-Laws, and begin to recruit members.
The program for the evening was a presentation of old telegraph keys by Shelby. Shelby has quite a collections, some of his keys date back to the turn of the century. Always an interesting and informative program.
The Club funds totaled 203 dollars at the start of the night. 31 dollars were collected, leaving a grand total of 234 dollars. 50 dollars will be removed for the Creek Wood donation, leaving a total of 184 dollars.
