Last month’s minutes were presented by secretary, NY4N, and was approved as read.
The small offering for Evan McCutchen, KG4ABM, was finally sent to him by the Club. The Club raised 250 dollars for Evan, who is going to be a freshman at UT Knoxville this year. The Club hopes this helps with books and other first year items.
The Club confirmed that it would like to again run the K4TCG call-sign in the upcoming Tennessee QSO Party on 10 September. ( note) The request was forwarded to the Contest Chairman, W9WI. This was his response on the TCG reflector.
(Let's consider Jeff's post a solicitation for volunteers. The Dickson Co. group sure did a good job last time & I think we'd be delighted to have them do it again, but to keep things interesting we really should move it somewhere else in the state).
Field Day tee shirts and pins are available free to members who actively participated in the exercise. All shirts are now accounted for, with about three pins left.
Vollie, NA4C, advises net on Thursday night has about 8-10 check-ins per session. Net meets at 8:30 on 146.955 repeater.
Richard, AF4YL, advises he has truck problems and will not be able to do spotting from the mobile for a while.
Jeff, NY4N, advises in August, NAQP and Ohio QSO parties. In September, Tennessee QSO Party and ARRL VHF contest on same weekend, and CQ WW RTTY contest on weekend of 23 September.
No ARES updates.
Remember, fall picnic will be held 8 October at 6:30 at Lakeview Park in Dickson.
The rest of the meeting was spend with each member telling about their licensing experiences and memorable people that they have spoken to over the years.
With 161 dollars in the bank, the Club collected 42 on the night, which makes grand total of 203 dollars.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff NY4N 21 August 2006
