March 2005 Minutes

Jerry, Ed, Toni, Henry, Steve, Alice, Skip, Cecilia, Vollie, Jeff, Becky, & Charles were in attendance at the March 14, 2005, meeting of the DCARC. After the reading of the previous minutes and the treasurer's report, the meeting got underway.

First under old business was the club picnic. May 7, 2005, has been confirmed for our club spring picnic. It will be held at Lakeview Park beginning at 6:00 PM. Vollie has the list of food items which are being brought as of now, so if you were unable to list your item, you will have a chance at the next meeting.

We will also hold our WHITE ELEPHANT SALE so be prepared with items and money. Since we charge no club dues, remember that this is our main way of raising funds so give generously.

FIELD DAY was the next discussion. It will be held on June 25 & 26 at the soccer fields in Buckner Park. We will begin setup on Friday the 24th. Landon is field day chairman so check with Him on times.

CLUB INCORPORATION was passed among the members. Vollie will begin preparing the paperwork and Charles agreed to look everything over before submission.

Under new business was the election of officers for the upcoming year. The new officers will be voted in at the spring picnic. Be thinking of someone you would like to be an officer, or better yet, jump in and volunteer. There will always be someone to help you out so don't be afraid to get your feet wet.

Steve reported that several groups are trying to get the FCC to reconsider BPL. Some legal actions may even come about. Also code requirements in testing are still being debated. Nothing has been decided as of yet.

Tullahoma hamfest and the Virginia QSO party are this weekend.

The program for the evening was presented by Vollie Miller (W4TDB). It was a very informative power point presentation on Mobile Installations. Thanks Vollie.
