Here is a posting of the minutes of the last Dickson County
Amateur Radio Club that was held on 22 May, 2004. This was the month
for the Spring Club picnic. The picnic began approximately 6:00 P.M.
at the Mt. Sinai Community Center on East Piney Road.
There were 24 total at the meeting, including three visitors.
Larry Marshall, WB4NCW, the ARRL Tennessee Section Manager, and his
wife, was the guest speaker of the night. He discussed topics
including BPL, FCC rules and regulations, and the outlook of CW in
the future of Amateur Radio Licenses.
Other topics included the new 2 meter repeater in the area,
belonging to Landon, KF4CAU. This was the former machine of KN4HL,
Charles, on the frequency of 147.375 MHz. The machine has been moved
to its new location and testing is underway.
Landon also gave a verbal demonstration on his new wireless
mobile weather station, a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro Wireless.
According to Landon, the mount is a tubular "L" bracket that slips
into the vehicle tow receiver. This supports the "sensor suite".
The receiver console sits on the dash and provides weather data
updated every 2.5 seconds.
Other topics were the Club's participation in Field Day in June.
The May meeting is the one that elections are held for Club
officers. The following Club members were elected for a one year
