Meeting Minutes of February 9, 2004
 


Meeting called to order at 730PM: Skip W4VTH

Welcome & Introduction of Visitors

Secretary/Treasurer's Report: Barry N4KKT

Minutes of the January meeting were approved as previously posted.

Treasury report read and approved:
No expenditures
No money collected
Balance forward  $653.57

Announcements

Spring Picnic will be held May 22, 2004 at Mt. Sinai Community Center on West Piney RD.

Dixie Fest will be this coming weekend. Details on their web site.

Field Day will be June 26-27, 2004.

Old Business

There was a motion to change the Bylaws to reflect the Change of the meeting time from 7:30 to 7:00 that was voted on last month. The Motion was passed unanimously.

EC Report: Jerry KG4HDZ

Jeff is putting together an Emergency Action Plan.
E-scan Plan is in progress. The LEPC said the first siren is in place, but still needs wiring and programming.
The Tullahoma Hamfest is March 20 and 21. There will be EC meetings held, and all area ECs and AECs are asked to attend.
The Montgomery and Davidson County ARES groups have expressed an interest in working together as a group to offer other skills to each other and to be back up in case of an emergency in the other county. They would like to see us have more EmCom training in our group.
Storm Spotter class will be held February 26th in Waverly and March 13th in Dickson. All info is on the Skywarn Web page.

ARRL Report: Steve W4MGY

January 19 a proposal for restructuring amateur license classes was proposed to the FCC by the ARRL. Please see their web site or others such as QRZ and eHam for the plan and other discussions.
BPL- A proposal for rule making will be out from the FCC.

New Business      

No new business was discussed.

Motion presented to end business portion of the meeting to allow Melanie Ware to present her program. Motion seconded and passed.

Business session adjourned at 7:55PM.

Melanie NX4X presented a program about the MTEARS organization.
