MORE OF MY K2

K2 Connected to Zetagi PA
K2 portable

K2 driving a Zetagi B300P PA.

The PA is one of the cheaper types - close to a CB-stylish box. Works ok if not overdriven (the 'manual' states 300W SSB output)
I'm usually drive 1W of the K2 into it to get ~40-50W out, that's enough most of the times. If I put 8W in, I'll get abt 180Watts out of it. PA is made of a pair of MRF 454.

You need some circuitry to use the TX -signal of the K2. Using the built-in VOX is not an option.

The parts can easily be put into the PA-box. I have drilled a whole into the rear panel to fit a 3.5mm plug. Another cable is required to use the TX output provided by K2IO-option board.

See my K2 portable. Used the internal battery w/o a recharge for about 3 hours, and still got abt 8Watts of power output.

On the left picture, you will recognize a thin black rod - this is my vertical antenna!
It's about 4.5meters high, and folds into small pieces, each
half a meter of length only. It's made of hollow fibre, a 1.5mm wire
runs inside of the fibre.
