Do you have an OCF-Dipole or an FD-4?

So why are you not QRV on 160m?

"Because my Antenna is only for 80-10m Bands"

So let´s bring it to work on 160m!

Normally the FD-4 or Standard OCF-Dipole has an Balun 1:6 and a dimension of 13,8m and 27,7m for each leg.

So what can we do?

I took  a PVC-Tube with 50mm diameter and bring up 125 windings of 0,75mm˛ HVK- Standard isolated cable on in. I fixed the windings with glue and took some screws to have a good and safe contact.

i drilled two wholes each side in the tube to fixed the wire.

That gives an Inductivity of about 150 mH. Not critical!

After that i mount  this L, with a rope through the tube, to the short end of the OCF-Dipol(FD-4) and took 10m HVK 0,75mm˛ to the other end.

So now i started to tune the 10m wire . Messure and cut, messure and cut....

After some test i had a length of about 4-5m. and a Resonanz on 160m.

SWR 1,5 Window from 1800 khz to 1840. Not bad for the first Test.

So what can we do with this kind of Antenna?
