The 2009 Duke City Hamfest will offer a variety of activities for your enjoyment. A schedule is posted below. Please note that some information below may change as the hamfest nears. A final schedule will be available for viewing at the Hamfest itself.

10:00 AM - Noon: Worked All States (WAS), VHF/UHF Century Club (VUCC), and DX Century Club (DXCC) award card checking in Room 3.
- If you are submitting your QSL cards to be checked for awards (WAS, DXCC, VUCC), please carefully read the rules shown on the specific award
application you are providing the card checker. Please use the current
ARRL application form for award(s) you are having your cards checked for, and ensure all paperwork is completed prior to
submitting your QSL cards. Provide a SASE business size envelope addressed to
ARRL with 1 unit of postage for up to 3 pages and 2 units of postage for
4-7 pages. For payment of award fees, please be prepared to pay via check (payable to ARRL) or credit card.
1:00 PM: ARRL VE Exams for all license classes. Meeting Room 1. Due to time constraints, exam candidates arriving after 1:30pm may not be accepted. Click here for more information.
4:00 PM:

- 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: ARES/RACES forum. General discussion on local ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and RACES (Radio Amateur Communication Emergency Service) activities. Room 1.
- 9:00 AM - Noon: Skywarn forum. Learn how to spot, classify, and report weather phenomena to the National Weather Service. Room 2.
- 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Antique Radio forum. Zenith Transoceanics - and the Wannabes. Room 4.
- 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Army MARS forum. General discussion on MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System) activities. Room 1.
- 11:00 AM - Noon: ARRL forum (conducted by NM Section Manager Don Wood W5FHA, Rocky Mountain Division Director Brian Mileshosky N5ZGT, Rocky Mountain Division Vice-Director Dwayne Allen WY7FD, and ARRL Public Relations Manager Allen Pitts W1AGP). Room 1.
- Noon - 12:30 PM: Public Information Officer (PIO) forum (conducted by ARRL Public Relations Manager Allen Pitts W1AGP). Room 1.
- 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Ham Radio Deluxe forum. Learn about Ham Radio Deluxe, a suite of free Windows programs providing computer control for commonly used transceivers and receivers. Room 4.
- 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM: I/Q Modulation forum. Learn all about this useful modulation technique and see LabView demonstrations. Room 3.
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Grounding forum. A great presentation on how to properly ground a station and pictures of what might happen if you don't! Room 2.
- 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM: APRS forum. Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS) -- a nationwide system to transmit GPS and other digital data in real time. Room 4.
- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Software Defined Radio forum. A report on a local project to design and build a software defined radio based on a low cost FPGA and a PIC processor. Room 3.
- 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM: Seeker Robot forum. Need to defuse an IED? Come learn about and see Seeker -- a low cost but quite versatile robot the FBI and others are interested in. Room 2.
