The DCARA events are held throughout the year and announced by the

The DCARA schedules a Holiday Party in
December.
The DCARA
participates in Field Day in conjunction with the Mobile Sixers ARC, the
Delaware County Digital Users Group and the Marple-Newtown ARC at the Drexel
Lodge, PA Route 3 (West Chester Pike) two miles west of PA Route 252.
The ARRL Field Day is always the last full weekend of June.

Turnpike.
Joe N3BAM and Jon WA3KFT dicussed the joint DCARA-MNARC-Mobile Sixers
Field Day in Newtown Square.

Paul N3UD demonstrated the ICOM D-STAR digital voice and data radio
system.

demonstrated the RockMite 40M transceiver.
Lloyd Roach discussed commercial radio broadcasting in the Delaware
Valley
A DCARA meeting was held at the Delaware
County EOC, Lima, PA. A discussion of Amateur Radio support of
emergency services with the Delco ARES was presented.
Ed Hare W1RFI, ARRL Headquarters Staff, discussed the concept of Broadband
over Power Lines via a DVD (video) presentation. This is the proposed high speed Internet technique that
represents a challenge to amateur and public
safety spectrum.
Dennis K3DS demonstrated the earth-bound Mars Rover,
a semi-autonomous vehicle with a 2M packet digital data telemetry and control
system and a 3/4M ATV transmitter. The Mars Rover was an
undergraduate senior design project in Electrical and Computer Engineering
at Temple University in 2003-2004. The Mars Rover was featured in an
article in the November 2004 edition of QST.
