indicate that you are accessing the emergency patch. Without unkeying your
transmitter, enter the three digit code for the service you wish to call.
After entering the three digit code unkey and wait for the repeater to put
the call through for you. The repeater will indicate in voice the
emergency service you are calling. To terminate the emergency autopatch

The
EMERGENCY Patch Is Always On.
REGULAR
AUTOPATCH - The regular autopatch is subdivided into two states, depending
on whether a control operator is monitoring the repeater and the time of
day.
INDIVIDUAL
SPEED DIAL - Between the hours of 6:30 am and 11:30 pm daily, members can
use the autopatch to call the number stored in their speed dial slot. In
order to access this autopatch you must be transmitting a 100 Hz PL tone.
The user merely idenifies as normal when using the autopatch and enters
the three digit speed dial number. A few seconds after unkeying, the
repeater will dial the number which has been stored in the speed dial slot
and the autopatch continues as any normal autopatch would. To terminate
the patch enter the Patch Clear Code #
When the
repeater is in this mode the ID sent by thr repeater is "W1EE/R"
transmitted in CW.
Every member
is intitled to one speed dial number. To optain a speed dial number
contact the trustee.
FULL
AUTOPATCH - When the control operator is monitoring the repeater will be
in full autopatch to all available to members. To access the patch the
member should identify, enter the autopatch access code and then the
number you wish to call without unkeying your transmitter. Remember, if
you are calling a number outside Stamford the number should be preceded by
a 1. You will not hear a dial tone but the repeater will repeat the number
you are calling. To terminate the autopatch simply enter the Patch Clear
Code #
If you call
a number outside the Stamford dialing area please check with the Treasurer
at the next meeting to settle you account. The autopatch will not allow
you to call a number outside of the 203 area code or the 914 area code if
you access the Westchester Autopatch.
When the
repeater is in this mode the ID sent by the machine is "W1EE Autopatch On"
in voice.
LONG
SISTANCE CALLS - When ever an autopatch is made outside the local Stamford
dialing area, a long distance charge is imposed. This applies to
calls made with the speed dial number, through the regular autopatch
and obviously, through the Westchester Patch. Please reimburse the
Treasurer for these calls. Failure to do so will result in the loss of the
autopatch.
EMERGENCY
PROCEDURES - KEEP IT SHORT - Most of the people you speak to are civilian
dispatchers. When you are first connected to the emergency service,
briefly tell them you are calling by radio and cannot hear them until you
stop speaking. Then briefly give them the nature of the problem and the
location and wait for questions.
Be sure of
the facts and relate them as concisely as possible. Accurately state the
location of the incident and whether you know if any injuries are
involved.
