Receiver, switcher by DTMF

This project allows the user to control via DTMF, eight independent output’s, to which it may be connected bigger power. It can be connected to a transceiver, simply to a receiver, scanner, or even the phone. This circuit is based in two market available chips, that simplify our work, because they were made exactly for the porpose. Being them the DTMF receiver; and the PIC microcontroller, that will control out circuit.

First time power on:

When you switch power the first time, you have to program the 3 tone combinations that are going to be used to control the output’s. Each output is controled with two 3 tone combination, one to switch on, and the other to switch off. So, you must program 16 tone combinations, plus one to switch off all of the output’s at the same time, plus another to put the circuit to spleep, for security reasons (needing the user to make a reset to the board); making a grand total of 18 tone combination !!

After Power ON, you have 2 seconds to input the “*” tone. Doing so, the board will enter programming mode, and the output 1 will switch ON.

The tone programming is done from the first output, to the last output. Input the switch ON combination, followed by the switch OFF combination. After this input the next combinations for the second output, and so on.

After the 8 output’s are programmed, input the combination to switch OFF all output’s at the same time, and another combination to switch OFF all output’s and put the board to sleep.

After inserting the 18 combintations, programming mode will end, and output 1 will switch OFF.

All codes are saved in EEPROM memory, so power can be turned off, without loosing the settings.

The receiver/switcher is ready to be used.

Power there after:

When you switch on the circuit, you have to wait 2 seconds, so it can read the internal codes and make an internal reset. It’s ready to work!! You just have to introduce the programmed combinations, and you’ll see the output’s acting like you program them.

The binary to program the PIC, schematic and PCB , of the Receiver/Switcher by DTMF, are available here !!
