Hello and welcome fellow visitor.

My name is Luís, I was born in Lisbon in 1978.

I work as an Engineer in an Internet Service Provider so the Internet in general is a big part of my life.

I started very young radio operation, influenced by the JOTA (scouts Jamboree on The Air), which led me to Amateur Radio.

In 1996 I made the Amateur Radio Exam and the callsign CT2FZI was given to me.

Living in Lisbon, there isn't much chance to have big directional antennas or big full wave loops, so I have found a great antenna: OH2EC Trapped Dipole, working 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters band with less than 1.5:1 SWR ratio and without ATU.

Nevertheless this is all the fun of Amateur Radio: with short budget & size resources work great distances! But please don't forget, a good QSO is not a long one (distance or duration), its about the content.

Friendship, knowledge and acomplishments: from Satellite to EME (Earth-Moon-Earth transmitions) and ending in Emergency Exercises, my Station is ready and "on the air" :)

I hope you enjoy reading my pages, which I've tried to make useful and entertaining for all the visitors.

This website mainly reflects my interests in Amateur Radio, experimentation and construction, but a few other items may occasionally appear.

At the dowloads page you will find lots of items (pdf documents, images, software) that represents a good knowledge base regarding Amateur Radio technical docs, do it yourself, and a little humor too.

Please write me a line, I will be very glad to QSO with you.

73 de Luis, CT2FZI !

What is amateur radio?
