O Comité do Património Mundial da UNESCO, no dia 25 de Novembro de 1986, classificou Evora como Património Mundial. Testemunha de um passado irrequieto, marcado pela presença de povos e culturas distintas, Evora e uma cidade notável desde periodos remotos da Peninsula Ibérica, e hoje uma das cidades mais importantes de Portugal, tendendo a transformar-se num importante polo regional.

The Unesco World Heritage Comitee, classified Evora as World Heritage in 1986. Representative of an inquiet past, distinguished by the presence of famous peoples and cultures, Evora is a remarkable city since remote periods of the Iberian Peninsula, and nowadays is one of the most important cities of Portugal, tending to be transformed into a notable regional center
