All licenses and permits to operate in the island are in hand including the very difficult permit to stay overnight (yes we got it!), we recall that spending the night in Pessegueiro is not allowed by the authorities, so, any operation taking place during the night without this permit cannot be credited for IOTA under the new rules of creditation.

Two Kilowatt stations, beams and special antennas for 80/40 will be working with the main goal of giving this IOTA reference to those areas of the world where EU-167 is a Most-Wanted, therefore the Team will concentrate in working North America Asia and Oceania.

During the IOTA Contest a Multi-op. effort will be made with the call CQ2P.

The authorities stated that future visits (daylight visits) to Pessegueiro will be restricted and only allowed with the presence of an official guide because of the islands Archeologic and Biologic presence.

SO, DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO WORK EU-167 NOW, IT CAN BE SILENT FOR A WHILE IN THE COMING YEARS.

The Team for the Pessegueiro Island DX'pedition IOTA EU-167
is now complete, the 8th member is Ghis, ON5NT, that as also
been with us last year in EU-150 (no, Pessegueiro is not as cold
as Heard, HI !... Sun block is needed) !

Sam, CT1EEN, has been on Pessegueiro during last week for a pre-study of all the hardware places on request of the Wildlife people... !

Everything is a go, all places for antennas, including the 2 Beams and 2 element phased-vertical for 40m. by VK6LC, are defined...

The operation should start at 00:00 UTC of Friday, 24th of July, using own callsigns/portable. The call CQ2P will only be used during the IOTA Contest.

The Team now includes: CT1AHU, CT1CJJ, CT1EEB CT1EEN, CT1END, CT1ENQ, CT1ETZ and ON5NT...

CT1EAT promised to join us for a visit and some help on the Island, and he is most welcome to !

Once again we want to hear as much feedback of the EU-167 needs in Asia,

Oceania and North America as possible to start working on the propagation charts !

The objective is not only being on the IOTA Contest but also lower EU-167

from Place #7 of the most-wanted European islands in the World...

So, European operators be patient if we, for a bit, will only work specific

areas of the World depending on demand...
