| That small spot of Chilean territory (since 1888), has an outstanding good propagation 24 hour a day. |
| Thanks to Father Dave (CEØAE), and many other friends who live on the island, I felt as at home, as soon as landed at Mataveri airport, in a 707 from Lan Chile. The flight from Santiago is about 5 hours.With my very good friend Gustavo, CEØZIJ, who shared his QTH, helped me raising up the aerials (from 160 to 10 mts.), and guided me all around the island, this short DX-pedition became quickly an unforgetable experience. ("Anakena Beach" is a must to anyone who arrives to "Rapa-Nui"). |
| More than 100 countries were heard among the bands, about 14.000 QSO's were done, and I had the chance to talk to many old good friends in the world, that I couldn't reach from Santiago since a long time, due to very poor conditions. |
