To get started with the Fish of the Bay (FOB), each member needs to buy
a fishing boat. So tell the YL or OM you are going to buy a boat to go
fishing on the Chesapeake Bay.
Members purchase a Fishing Boat by collecting 30 Lighthouse Certificate
numbers and any of 3 different Fishing Boat point values. The Fishing Boat
prices are listed below. Remember, all must be completed to qualify for
your new FOB number . After completing the requirements
for your FOB number, send your logged data to the
upgrade manager (N3TGB). There are 12 "FISH" seals. NO Awards on FOB may
be collected before the Certificate is received.
All who qualify will add the suffix FB to your original CBC number. For
example, SQ51 will become 51FB. This is the only way to let members know
that you are a FOB member. This is particularly important when giving out
birthday points because it lets everyone know that you are worth a 200
point birthday bonus (see "Bonus" Rule below). All who use a FB to
become a member of CBC will get a 100 point bonus to get started.
The Chesapeake Bay Chapter has three boats from which to choose. Each boat
is worth a different quarterly special and the Chapter Bay Chapter will
throw in 1500 points to get you started. The boat you choose determines
how many points you will need.
Please understand that you only have one chance at buying a high priced
boat. The boat you choose to enter the Fish of the Bay will be the most
expensive boat you can buy throughout this program. This means that you
will be allowed to buy other boats, but only boats of a lesser price than
the one you start with.
Members can collect boat points once per monthly special. When the month
ends, the slate gets wiped clean and you start over. (You can work the same
Boat seal members again, when the special is appropriate.
Here is the breakdown on each boat. Its cost and value during its

Fishing Boats>
A. Bounty Hunter - This boat costs 25,000 points and its Monthly
Special Value is 100 points by each member and the boat's
owner. Specials are January, February, March, and April.
B. Killin Time II - This boat costs 20,000 points and its Monthly
Special Value is 75 points by each member and the boat's
owner. Specials are May, June, July, August.
C. Crack of Dawn - This boat costs 15,000 points and its Monthly
Special Value is 50 points by each member and the Boat's
owner. Specials are September, October, November, December.

BONUSES
A. Birthday and Holiday Bonus: Birthdays and Holidays will be worth 200
points. As stated above all who have the "FB" suffix on their CBC number
are worth 200 points for contacts made during his or her birthday.
