Chesapeake Amateur Radio Services

Resolution of Community Support
by the
Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service, Inc.

March 7, 2000

Whereas, the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to Amateur Radio and Volunteer Public Service Communications.

Whereas, the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service, Inc., and its members have been proud to serve our city and community with volunteer public service communication. We serve to the best of our ability at the Emergency Operations Center, shelters, during parades, and other special events.

Whereas, the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service, Inc., in the tradition and spirit of Amateur Radio, resolves in the new millennium to continue to provide the City of Chesapeake, and the community with Amateur Radio, Public Service Communications.

We are honored to have the privilege to volunteer our services and talents to our City, community, and friends.

THE CITY OF CHESAPEAKE

The City of Chesapeake has supported the Amateur Radio Community for many years. As a result, the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service is able to maintain a radio station on the campus of the Chesapeake Center for Science and Technology (CCST). Furthermore, the Principle of the Chesapeake Center for Science and Technology has graciously provided classrooms for meetings, classes and training.

The City of Chesapeake continues to recognize the potential for Amateur Radio to provide communication service in the event of severe weather or other disasters. This is evident by the letter of appreciation for SKYWARN activities and the Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Chesapeake and the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service and Emergency Coordinator.

Members of the club and and all Amateur Radio Operators in the City of Chesapeake and those that are able to use the 146.820 repeater are extremely grateful for the support and strive to provide the best possible support in emergency communications to the citizens of the City of Chesapeake and surrounding communities.
