NCS SUMMER SCRIPTS, July 2003
All scripts are guides. The NCS station can modify scripts to fit the activity going on at the moment. If there are many check-ins and very rapidly changing weather you may want to request another station to record or act as a liaison. Also as NCS you may need to make a comment about normal repeater activity in between hourly or ½ hour call-ups.
Remember, during the summer tornado spotting comes first and must be reported immediately. The more weather activity there is the more the repeater needs to be left open so the spotter's with urgent severe weather reports can break-in.
There are 3 types of scripts used during an actual activation.
- Initial call up
- Call for regular reports (every 30 or 60 minutes) and announcement of repeater use
- Closing the Net
During each of the NCS request for severe weather reports, the NCS can elect to run down the list of check-ins or only request severe weather reporting.
