Amateur Radio Links

CARLY, The Connecticut Amateur Radio League of Youth, is presently comprised of several youngsters-some licensed, some unlicensed. This adult supervised organization was founded in early 2000. Monthly meetings are held for the membership to discuss activities that appeal to them. Projects include licensing classes, hands on activities, such as constructing simple antennas and demonstrations of operating techniques. Onced licensed, they can enjoy talking around the world to other hams on nothing more than a computer with internet access. (The free downloadable software program used for this is called EchoLink). They often particapate in competetive on-the-air activities such as VHF/UHF Sweepstakes, New England QSO party, and the biggest annual amateur radio event- Field Day.

We meet on the first Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM at the old Newington fire house on the corner of Main and Garfield.

For more information about this wonderful youth opportunity check this web site or email one of the key adult sponsors. Information is on our contact page.
