-MARC: MARINE CORPS MARATHON IS OCTOBER 31
Be a lifesaver!!! A total of 100 operators are needed for various
locations along the course in Washington, DC and VA. There are positions
available for Medical Aid Stations, Net Control and locations on the
route. Some positions require HTs while others, like Rock Creek Park,
require mobile radios and a mast.

Do you have portable packet, APRS or Amateur TV? There are needs for
these skills and equipment as well.

Security makes it necessary to submit names of all volunteers for course
passes three weeks before the race so don't wait until the last minute
to sign up! There is a convenient link from http://www.ncacdc.com.

- MSN: The Maryland Slow Net, 3.717MHz 19:30 local every evening
helps you learn CW and CW traffic handling. Take a look at their

- A "new" SSB 2-meter net: Saturdays 20:15 local, 146.590 - They may
eventually move to the SSB area, but for now they're up here.
Also, they are using their vertically polarized antennas.

applications on pre-December 2003 forms--these are forms that non-
examinees mail directly to FCC. (THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE
