

The election of CARC officers takes place each December. If you
are interested in serving as an officer or on the nominating committee, the following
sections of the club constitution will help you to understand what is expected of
officers.
Officers:
- The officers of this club shall be: President, Vice-President, Secretary,
Treasurer, and two Directors. This group constitutes the Board of Directors.
- The officers of the club, excepting one Director, shall be elected for a
term of one year by ballot of the members present, provided there be a quorum, at the
regular meeting on the second Thursday of December, each year. The immediate past
President shall serve as the Director excepted above.
- Vacancies occurring between elections must be filled by special elections
at the first regular meeting following the withdrawal or resignation.
- Officers may be removed by a three-fourths vote of the membership.
Duties of Officers:
- The President shall preside at all meetings of this club, and conduct the
same according to the rules adopted. He shall enforce due observance of the Constitution
and By-Laws; decide all questions of order; sign all official documents that are adopted
by the club, and none other; and perform all other customary duties pertaining to the
office of President.
- The Vice President shall assume all duties of the President in the
absence of the latter, and shall serve as Program Chairman.
- The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of all meetings,
keep a roll of members, submit applications for membership, carry on all correspondence,
read communications at each meeting, mail written notices to each member, and maintain
liaison with other Amateur Radio organizations at the direction of the Board of Directors.
- The Treasurer shall receive and receipt all monies paid to the club; he
shall keep an accurate account of all monies received and expended. He shall pay no bills
without proper authorization by the club or its officers constituting a business
committee. He shall submit an itemized statement of disbursements and receipts at each
club meeting.
- The Board of Directors shall act on any matter referred to them by the
club, and shall bring to the club various proposals and recommendations for the betterment
of the club. The Board of Directors shall resolve all questions of membership as provided
for in this document.
- All officers shall at the end of their terms turn over everything in
their possession belonging to the club to their successors.
