Thursday, 11-14-02 Willow Crossing Attendance 16 led by Joe LaFauci, President, KA9OPL Round table introductions of names and callsigns Minutes read by Steve Low, Secretary, KB9QFT. Secretaries report by Lois Winterberg, KA9IOS. Balance $6528.23 Marion Winterberg, WD9HTN, reports that the repeater is scheduled to be worked on by Burt Baltus,N9LQP, on Thursday, November 21. It is hoped that he can fix whatever troubles it is that we have had implementing the PL input tone. No notch filter will be installed until an evaluation can be made of the effectiveness of the PL tone. Preparations for the election of officers in December began by assigning Edwin "Scotty" Scott, KB9WCQ to organize a nominating committee. Fort Wayne Hamfest, will be held November 16 & 17, 2002. The club received two complimentary tickets to be given away. Winning the tickets was William L. Kight, WA9WMT. Lois Winterberg, KA9IOS, presented a letter received by the club promoting software written by Glenn S. Davis, N3FJP, of Maryland. Of interest to the club might be his Field Day Logging program. Check it out and his other products at http://www.n3fjp.com. If you feel it would be of benefit on field day bring it up at a club meeting. A couple request for some assistance by club members. Buford Lee, KE4KOQ, asks if anyone has a method for magnifying portions of a Windows screen for easier visibility. Alvin Koffman, KA9QLQ, requested help in making changes to his computer/radio desk wiring to meet a notice by the fire marshal in an inspection visit to Willow Crossing. (Alvin's desk wiring was re-run and cable tied by Noel Taylor, N9CJT, and Steve Low, KB9QFT, on November 15. Hope it meets with approval!) Alvin Koffman mentions a website, Hamtest.com , for a good way to study for your licensing exams. (Secretary's note: currently 404, could it be permanently lost?) Marion has re-discovered a six meter beam long ago donated to the club by silent key, Ed Howe. This has long been in "club storage" and could be reassigned to an interested club member. Contact Marion if interested. At least one member was prodding Don Keith, WB9SMC, to take the beam and install it as a replacement for his present non-commercial antenna. It is quickly reaching the status of tradition that Sarah Bartlett, KA9WBG leads our December net meetings. Sarah has eagerly volunteered to host Tuesday nights at 8:30pm on the 146.790 repeater again this year. Terry Payne, KB9SRE, will be providing refreshments at our last meeting of the year, to be held at Willow Crossing December 12, 2002., 7:30pm. Meeting adjourned.
