OLD BUSINESS: Alvin, KA9QLQ, reported that the M.S. walk previously discussed will be changed to a June/July date. Joe reported that no radio club activity was held at the recent "Space Day" held by the local Civil Air Patrol at the Fair Oaks mall. They had requested an attempt at Space Station/Shuttle communications. No local "expert" stepped forward to make this happen. We were probably given too short of notice to make all the arrangements which would have been necessary. [ Field Day Discussion ] June 22,23 Still to be held at Willow Crossing Gazebo, South lawn. Jim Anderson, N9KVX, will be responsible for generator, a beam antenna, EOC radio. Control Operator? No definite assignment... possibilities? WW9A Brian Smith, WV9W Jim Smith a 2nd radio will be supplied by Buford, KE4KOQ 3rd radio by Scotty, KB9WCQ Marion Winterberg, WD9HTN, has several of the club's supplies for F.D. including antennas, tower, push up poles and the list goes on and on.... ******* Mike Riley, N9LTT [who's zip code is STILL wrong in the FCC database], has established the Columbus North High radio club as the "Columbus Area Career Connection" and it has established a new callsign of KC9BPW. Discussion about possible Fall classes for Club to help with new licensees. ******* EOC now has dual band antenna, desires to add dual band radio replacing present 2m unit. Noel Taylor N9CJT, has met with architect for East Columbus EOC building. Sounds very promising for us. See previous months discussions. Lois, KA9IOS, initiated discussion concerning the upcoming Honeysuckle Ride, June 15. Assignments were reviewed. Marion, WD9HTN, has leds for at least three towers available for take down.
