Marion Winterberg  reported that he and Scotty (KB9WCQ) had attended a meeting with Columbus Parks and Rec. We have been granted permission to use the Vista location

as requested. Permit fees were also waived. An overnite permit will be issued to us.

Charlie Zaharako from the Midwest Tandem Bike Rally group attended the meeting and reported that the Tandem ride was a great success.  The purpose of his visit was to express the Bike Club’s appreciation and to present CARC with a donation in the amount of 500.00 for their participation.

Marion Winterberg advised that we already have two exhibitors who have reserved tables for the 2005 Columbus Hamfest.  The club Hamfest flyers have been printed and are ready for mailing. Marion suggested that within the next month, hopefully in early February, he can announce a date for a group of volunteers to get together and affix postage in preparation for mailing.

A brief discussion took place regarding the acceptance of the 500.00 contribution to the club.  It was suggested that perhaps our club could make a donation to a local charity.

There didn’t seem to be a consensus for an action to be taken , therefore the subject may be brought up at a later date.

Misc:

Alvin Koffman noted that Amateur Radio received a promotional plug on the Rush Limbaugh  radio program several times during the last couple days .

Scotty (KB9WCQ) volunteered to act as net control for the month of February.
