Minutes of the December meeting were read by Paul Bartlett, and the Treasurers report was read by Lois Winterberg. Payment of outstanding bills was approved. Sarah Bartlett read a report on how Leap Year is figured and the reason that the year 2000 is the exception to the general rule. Paul Bartlett was complimented on his operation of the Y2K Net and people were thanked for participating. The tower that Buford has acquired is in need of paint before it is put up, which will have to wait until warmer weather or until a location with heat can be found. Alvin Koffman reported that Ed Krome is available to speak at the March meeting. There was a discussion of the license restructuring and what it will mean to operating privileges. The purchase of an HT for the Hamfest door prize was approved in the amount of $225.00; a motion was passed to make a $75.00 to Parkside Baptist Church for the use of the room; a motion was passed to pay $100.00 for a 2M radio from to Martin Hackman (WB9ZID) estate and donate the radio to the Red Cross. We were reminded that the date of the Hamfest is March 25. The possibility of the Channel 13 weather van visiting in March was discussed. Dave Dye will bring refreshments in February and will also be net control. Dave and Susan Faatz will be net control(s) in March.
