Minutes:                April 14, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by Joe Lafauci

Secretary Report:                 Read and approved

Treasurer’s Report:              Read and approved

 

Old Business:

Lois Winterberg reported that she has registered the club with PayPal and has received a credit for .42 from PayPay to confirm the club address.

It was also noted that replacement tires had been purchased and installed for a total of 44.00

 

Hamfest:

Marion Winterberg reported that the recent hamfest was a success. The club had revenue of 3009.76, expenses of 1757.22, and a net of 1252.54.  He also reported that the fairgrounds will  carry our 100.00 deposit over to next year. Ed Polly won the grand prize at the hamfest and forwarded a thank you to the club.

 

New Business:     

Steve Lowe passed out a flyer promoting the Sandy Hook Methodist church cross country ride. Steve is asking the club to consider providing communication support for the event to be held on Saturday (5/14).     

 

Jim (N9KVX) announced that he and Wayne (N9MUS) would like to try getting together

a group of volunteers to help put up a dual band antenna, an HF antenna, and new coax at

the EOC the weekend of April 30th.

 

Program:                Mary Ellen  Anable and Susan Waltz from the American Red Cross briefed the group regarding the status of the local Red Cross, and the need for their group to collaborate and develop a relationship with our group for communications support. Brown, Decatur, and Bartholomew counties are served by our local Red Cross office. The Red Cross will

be offering Disaster Assessment training in Jeffersonville,IN on May 5th if anyone is interested.

 

 Misc:                     Mary Ellen mentioned that our group would be welcome to have our next meeting at the

                                Red Cross facility  if there are no conflicts. She or Susan will confirm availability and

let us know.  Marion brought several unclaimed door prizes from the hamfest,  and it was decided to draw lots to see how the items would be distributed.

                                 

                                Noel  (N9CJT) volunteered to act as net control for the month of  May.
