Alvin introduced Valerie: An M.S. walk will be held in May in Columbus for the local group. She asks for possible club communication support. Details will be given at a future date. Noel introduced a couple of men from the Columbus Bicycle club. The Honeysuckle Hundred bike ride will be held again this year, June 15. Some of the funds raised will be donated to the Special Olympics this year. Our communications support is requested. A note for the future: The 2004 Midwest Tandem Ride with approximately 600 bikes will be held on a Labor Day weekend. Mark your calendars in advance. Club members and guest introduced themselves around the room. Steve read secretaries minutes for the March meeting. Lois read the treasurer's report. Lois also gave a detailed Hamfest financial report. A profit was made. Marion reports that the 2002 Columbus Hamfest was attended by more people than ever, approximately 405. VE's were pleased with the space provided for the testing--some 16 people took advantage to obtain/upgrade licenses. Discussion revolved around interest for local VE testing. Marion will send out letters of thanks to those who donated equipment for the club to sell. Noel: Honeysuckle Bicycle ride volunteers needed. Some have already spoken and been assigned. Noel will be checking with some others of you. Noel: Red Cross information: April meeting did not take place. May, June meetings are still scheduled. On April 23, 7pm Brown County will hold a meeting with a 20min. presentation, at the old Highway Garage on Greasy Creek road. On April 13 @ 10:30am the Red Cross Bartholomew County teams will meet at the Red Cross Center to re-organize. Interested may attend, even if not presently a member. Joe: "Space Day" 6-9pm May 1 & 2 at the Commons by the Civil Air Patrol. They questioned if the club could setup for possible shuttle/space station communications. Discussion.
