Operation Bands
In the spectrum of radio waves are so many bands "frequency" get in these 1.820 MHz (medium wave) and go up to 300 GHz (microwave), whose frequencies assigned to Radiomar, either as the primary (sole or primary amateurs) is based on secondary (non-priority shared and amateurs) are determined by the IARU and understand the following bands:
the 160 meters - 1800-1900 kHz
the 80 meters - 3500-3850 kHz

Single Side Band is a way of radio emission derived from the removal of the carrier and one of the bands.
When an audio signal is applied to a carrier is obtained as the sum product of the frequency applied and the carrier, and obtains the difference between the two. So are the two generated sidebands and bottom.
As the sidebands are carrying the information. This information can be music, voice or other input signal applied to the modulation of the transmitter.
Upon arriving at the receiver is done the reverse process to recover the original information.
In the transmission in a single sideband, frequency and one of the main bands are eliminated with the use of appropriate filters, leaving only the other side. This process is done before the final stage of the transmitter power (see also balanced modulator).
The advantage of the transmission in a single sideband is on the power of the scope.
Compare the income of a transmitter with amplitude modulation-AM 100 Watt transmitter with a single sideband of the same power.
In the transmitter AM 50% (50W) is applied to the carrier. The carrier carries no information to the receiver. Each of the two sidebands takes 25% of power, ie, the other half.
In the transmitter of a Single Side Band, all 100W of power output stage are applied to single band.
THUS, one can say that a transmitter Single Side Band has about four times the efficiency of an amplitude modulation transmitter of the same power.

The Amateur is a person authorized by the relevant authorities to operate a radio station on frequencies defined by government agencies for doing so in Portugal is in charge of Anacom following standards in the world of the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).
