Implementation Procedures
a. County Government
The Broward County Emergency Management Division or the Communications Officer shall be contacted upon determination by a responsible county government official of an emergency requiring county-wide communications support. The RACES Officer will be notified by either the Emergency Management Director or the Communications Officer and provided with the following information:
1. Nature of the incident
2. Number of operators required
3. Location of incident
b. Municipal Government
Upon determination of an emergency of a local nature requiring communications support, the local official making such a determination shall contact the Broward County Warning Point at (954) 765-5100. The County Warning Point Duty officer will determine the necessity of a RACES/ARES activation.. (See part a. of this section).
c. All Emergency Needs
In the event that Broward County Emergency Management Division determines that the situation does not warrant a RACES activation, then the County Warning Point Duty Officer shall provide the ARES EC with the following information:
1. Nature of the incident
2. Number of operators required
3. Location of incident.
