------------------------------------------------------------------------
QRPTTF '99 Rules / Distilled Version

5th Annual "QRP To The Field", sponsored by the NorCal QRP club.

Contest Period:  1600 UTC to 2400 UTC (Saturday, April 24th)

Categories:  Field, Home, DX, Multi-Op, Taco Bell. ;-)

Exchange:   RST and SPC (State, Province or Country).
Border stations must send each SPC their
            border location sits on.

                Example: "559 AZ/NV/CA" for a border station.

QSO Points:

ò 5 points per domestic QSO.

ò 10 points per DX QSO (incl VE, HI, AK).

ò Border ops count as 1 QSO for each SPC they send.

Multipliers:

ò Field Location - x4 (Field = Battery power & Temporary antennas).

ò Home Location - x2 (Home = commercial power and/or permanent antennas.)

ò SPC (State/Province/Country) totals for each band. SPC's count once *per band*. The same station/state may be worked on more than one band for QSO points and SPC credit.

ò Border Multi: xK, where K is the number of SPC's that intersected at your border location. Don't forget the Taco Bell Category! ;-)

ò DX Multi: x2 if you are a DX op (including VE, HI, AK).

Final Score:

- Add QSO points, apply multipliers listed above.

THE FINE PRINT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
An entry not having the Station & Location descriptions will be considered a check log, without scoring. Please get them in by June 1st, 1999. All contest committee decisions are final. Results will be published on QRP-L and in QRPp, the NorCal QRP Club Journal. How close do you have to be to a don't state border to claim operation from a state? Use common sense here and do anything that would endanger yourself. This contest, like all contests, is on the honor system. We trust you. The object is to have a good time. Good luck and hope to get you in the log!

CATEGORIES
------------------------------------------------------------------------

FIELD:  Any station operating from "the field."
Antennas must be erected on the site,
            you provide the power, etc.

HOME:  Home/fixed station site, permanent antennas, etc.

DX:  Any station not in the contiguous U.S.,
            including VE, AK and HI

MULTI-OP:  Two or more operators using a single call sign.

TACO BELL:  See below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

TACO BELL CATEGORY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will be allowed to claim a 2-state border if you operate from near a TACO BELL RESTAURANT. To qualify for this special TACO BELL multiplier, you must submit a photograph of your operation with your logs that shows both your station and the Taco Bell in the photo. Thus, you need not be in the parking lot neccessarily, but as long as your station is close enough to a Taco Bell to be in the "field of view" of the photo. And yes, photos may be published in QRPp. Each Taco Bell has a store number; you must ask for and record the Taco Bell store number on your entry.

If you do this, you sign your state/TACO BELL in your exchange. EXAMPLE: In New York, your exchange would be "NY/TACO BELL."
