Amateur Radio is a great hobby. It is fun and educational. Perhaps more importantly,
it provides a means of communications in emergencies when other systems are
inoperative or overloaded. For fun, and for your safety and the safety of your family,
friends, and community, consider getting your Amateur Radio license this year.

News and Notes:

Help and advice for the new ham:
Repeater Etiquette: Manners everyone should have when using a Repeater
(from the Stu Rockafellow Amateur Radio Society in Plymouth, Michigan.)
The repeater is EchoLink enabled. Connect to AB2XN-R, or node number 427886. EchoLink is typically up weekday afternoons between approximately 1600 and 2200 local. Thanks to Dave AB2XN for setting up the EchoStation software and Frank KC2MRL for the link radio.
Public Service Communications Support: If you are planning a public event at which you need radio communications, please contact any club member. Our resources are limited, but we would like to help out where possible. Better yet, consider getting your license and joining the club so that there are more operators available to handle public service and emergency communications.
