 November 14th, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Bob, VA3GUN called the meeting to order at 1938 hrs.  Scott, VA3EXT took minutes as Dave, VE3LMU is out of working.

No September meeting was held due to lack of members to hold a quorum. Minutes of the May 9th, 2007 General Meeting were read.

Old Business

The June, Club BBQ went well. It was held at the Neil, VE3VNM, & Sharon, VA3SJMs QTH. About 45 attended.

 

Dick gave a report on Camp 807.

 

$724 was paid out for food and the radio for the draw.

 

$439 was net after all was paid out.

Warren, VE3FYN mentioned that Atikokan would like to take the Fort Frances spot for Camp 807.

 

 

Dick gave a report on Vermilion Bay, Fathers Day, Tractor Parade.

Bob, VA3GUN read the financial statement. Arnie, VA3NOL motioned to accept, Fred, VE3WFN, seconded.

 

New Business

Arnie, VA3NOL  asked for volunteers for the Santa Claus Christmas Parade that will be on Friday, November 30th.  Members would be asked to turn out at 1800 hours but listen to the radios to confirm. Staging in front of Alex Wilson Coldstream on Princess St.

 

Christmas Party for ARSD is being planned for December 12th at Barclay Hall, Cocktails at 1700, and Meal at 1800.  Bryan, VA3BRY  to look into booking hall, Neil, VE3VNM & Adrian, VA3ALC  to organize the Chinese Auction, Leo, VE3ASS will be asked to cook a turkey, Bryan, VA3BRY was volunteered to smoke a turkey. Rick, VA3RGA volunteered to help set up hall. Please make plans to attend with your family and BYOcutlery, plates, beverage and glass.

 

Scott, VA3EXT talked about the new 150 guyed tower put up at the VE3DRY repeater site by DMTS for wireless internet. There will be a new shack installed at the base of the tower in the spring. This is when we will move ARSD radio equipment over to the new tower. The VHF repeater antenna will be side mounted about 10 below the top, Sioux Narrows UHF link antenna just below it and the rest below that. It will increase the VHF repeater antenna about 25 above existing height and Sioux Narrows UHF link antenna about 40. The 96 existing tower will then be removed.

 

 

Bob, VA3GUN talked about PACE funding for the emergency trailer project. It was decided that we will continue to peruse the Trillium Funding through DASARA first. Bob, VE3YDN is looking into that.

 

Nominations where called for 2008 executive. Gary, VE3MOR has indicated he will be stepping down at this time as technical director, all existing executives members will still stand.

 

Meeting adjourn at 2135 hours.
