 May 12th, 2010 Meeting Minutes

Dryden Fire Service Training Centre

 

President Bryan brought the meeting to order.

M.S.--Ken, VE3VGM,Neil, VE3VNM the minutes of the March 10th meeting be adopted as corrected.  Carried.

 

M.S.—Ken, VE3VGM, Arnie, VA3NOL, the financial statement as at April 30, 2010 be adopted as read.  Carried.

 Old Business:

We have not had a meeting with Mr Rickford yet regarding the Weather Radio.

 

Discussion followed regarding Emergency Battery Back up power for the repeater site.  Bob, VE3YDN and Scott, VA3EXT will review.

 

 

New Business:

May long weekend—Dryden Centennial Air Show—we plan to operate simplex at the airport command post.  EOC  will advise if we will use VE3DRY in an emergency.

 

June 9th—1900—CanWarn Severe Weather Spotting Training at Best Western.

 

June 12th—1700—Club BBQ at Neil’s QTH.

 

August 8th—Centennial Marathon—Noel Smith—with regrets the club will be unable to provide communications.

 

August long weekend—Camp 807 at Warroad.

 

Technical Director, Scott VA3EXT—

 

Bearpaw repeater is down.  Scott has it at his house to switch controllers to the VA3DIS, IRLP repeater at Dick's.

Camp Robinson repeater has an audio problem and no sensitivity.

Ear Falls is planning to build a new town building in 2011.

 

The club received 5 quotes ranging from 13,000 to 19,000 for  the emergency comm. Trailer.  Bryan and Dave will complete the application for the Trillium Foundation grant.

 

Moved by Neil the meeting adjourn.

 

VE3VGM won the 50-50 draw, and donated his winnings back to the club.
