M.S. Scott, VA3EXT and Neil, VE3VNM, the minutes of the January 14, 2009 meeting be adopted as distributed.  Carried.

Scott, VA3EXT, and Bob, VA3GUN, brought various parts of the Fort Frances repeater that Dryden will work on.  Scott will also be doing some work on the Black Hawk repeater.  There is some QRM from a Duluth repeater, so he will be changing this repeater to 147.045+ to alleviate the QRM.  The closest repeater also using 147.045 is near the Minnesota/Iowa state border, so there should be no QRM from there.  Once Sioux Narrows and Black Hawk link are up and running, Scott plans to change the Bear Paw controller.

The Rugby Winter Festival Dog Sled Race was well covered;  Bob, VA3GUN and Bryan, VA3BRY manned the Knob Lake checkpoint; Bob, VE3YDN and Neil, VE3VNM, manned the Start/Finish Line;  Dick, VA3DIK, manned checkpoints 1 and 5; Scott, VA3EXT, manned checkpoint 2 and 5;

Dave, VE3LMU, manned checkpoint 4.

M.S. Rick, VA3RGA and Jim, VE3JLN, the Financial Statement as at March 10, 2009 be accepted as distributed.  Carried.

Jim, VE3JLN, will be renewing his Volunteer Examiner permit.

Warren, VE3FYN, with assistance from Vic, VA3AKX, Atikokan, has potential for a class of 9 students interested in taking the Basic Course.

There will be Can Warn training sometime during the week of May 19th.  Dennis Paquette advised that the City of Dryden was willing to allow Environment Canada to place a Weather Radio Station on one of their towers east of WaMart.  They expect it will take a couple of years before the equipment will be available.

Bob, VA3GUN, briefed the members on the process and steps undertaken to apply for funding for the Emergency Communications Trailer.  The selection committee is finalizing equipment and plans for the trailer.

Bob, VE3YDN, has met with the Fire Chief about an unique communicator ID vest for use during emergencies.
