Old Business

The Christmas Parade was well covered by the members.

The Christmas Banquet was well attended36 members and spouses.  Good crowd, good food, good fun and good entertainment.  VE3VNM sent Thank you Cards to local business that donated items for the Chinese Auction.  Thanks also to Adrian, VA3ALC for coordinating the donations.  Over $200 was raised for the club.

Bryan, VA3BRY, chaired discussion on the club communications trailer.  In general terms, we need to accommodate several operating positions, and have room for storing an antenna system and ancillary equipment such as a generator.  We need to allow for expansion, because the trailer will be able to meet our needs for the long term.  Consensus was that 8 ft. by 18 ft would provide enough room.  The trailer would need to have a side door and a ramp (for loading generator or ATV).  Bryan had checked area and regional dealers, and found prices ranging from $6,000 to $10,000.  Our target figures then are: $10,000 for the trailer and $5,000 for ancillary equipment.  Trillium Foundation applications deadline is March.

Scott, VA3EXT; Arnie, VA3NOL; Bob, VE3YDN; Bob, VA3GUN; and Jim, VE3JLN volunteered to form a committee to further study and propose what will be required.

New Business

The Eton-Rugby Winter Festival will be held February 24th.  Clayton Schneider has asked the club to assist with communications for the dog sled races.  Jim, VE3JLN; Bob, VE3YDN; Dick, VA3DIK; Neil, VE3VNM; Leo, VE3ASS; Alf, VE3EFT; Bob, VA3GUN volunteered.  Arnie, VA3NOL will operate the Public Address system and provide race coverage for the spectators.

It is Drydens turn to host Camp 807 this August long week-end.  Dick, VA3DIK, will check with Birchland Trailer Park to see if it will be available for that weekend.  He will also book the picnic shelter for Saturday all day, so that we can hold our flea-market/swap shop under cover in case of inclement weather.

M.S. Alf, VE3EFT; Jim, VE3JLN, the Financial Statement as at January 9, 2007 be adopted as read.  Carried.

As of this meeting, 32 had renewed their 2007 membership.  In 2006, we had 57 members.  Renewals usually take 2-3 months to come it, so we are half-way there.

Dave, VE3LMU, reported that interest in the Basic Radio Class has dropped off.  He has one YL, and she is progressing very well.  She will be finished mid-March.

Moved by Neil, VE3VNM the meeting adjourn.

Jim, VE3JLN won the 50/50 draw.
