 February 2nd, 2010 Meeting Minutes

Dryden Fire Service Training Centre

 

In Attendance were:

A special meeting was called to discuss the club’s Emergency Communications Trailer.  Over the course of the meeting, the members outlined what they felt the size and general layout would be.

 

+  a 20-foot trailer (16 feet interior/4 foot tongue)

+  needs to pull with an truck or SUV

+  needs 6 ft headroom

+  front ½ will be operating area with a divider ½ way back for storage of equipment

+  24-foot manual crank-up tower mounted on tongue

+  36-inch door on right side (with vertical slider window in door); drop-down door/ramp at the back

+  air conditioner for summer/ propane wall-mounted heater for winter

+  3-foot by 4-foot dual pane window on left side/horizontal slider

+  floor, walls and ceiling insulated and lined with plywood

+  bearing buddies

+  lubricated hubs

+  2 5/16 ball, platform and equalizer hitch

+  standard exterior running lights

+  stone guard

 

+  we’ll supply our own interior furniture; mount the tower and propane tanks ourselves

+  electrical to include a generator and invertor

+  RV ladder so we can stand on the trailer roof to mount the antenna to the tower

+  awning

 

Bryan, VA3BRY, will check for quotes in preparation for an application for funding.
