Minutes of the regular meeting of the ARRL Santa Barbara Section Council of Clubs that was called to order at 10 a.m., 10-14-06 by the Chairman, Lloyd Oleson, KE6BBP.
Other officers present were:As the meeting registration record revealed there were eight designated representatives present, and as those persons represented a majority of the eight paid member organizations a quorum was declared. These represent a majority of the active ARRL Santa Barbara Section affiliated clubs.
There was considerable discussion from the floor concerning such issues as:
- Support to SARC for Santa Maria Swap FestThere was a motion offered from the floor by Don Milbury, W6YN, to change the regular meeting day and that it be returned to the second Saturday of August. This return is made possible by the Santa Barbara ARC moving their Hamfest to Sunday of that weekend.
The motion was seconded and passed by a unanimous vote.
A primary subject of the meeting was the election of officers for the coming year. The current officers were nominated to continue their responsibilities for another year and were confirmed by acclimation.
There being no further business at the meeting, Chairman Lloyd Oleson adjourned the meeting.
Those in attendance were delighted by the buffet luncheon provided by the Ventura Radio Club. The free to all attendees buffet was catered by Buster's Barbecue of Oxnard and included all of the trimmings. Those who were so inclined were able to take home generous portions of the leftovers.
The next meeting and Payment of Yearly Dues will be at 10 a.m. on the second Saturday in February at the regular location:
